Our Church

Our Church

The first baptism was recorded at our church in 1884 (Meiji 17). At that time, the pastoral care was entrusted to the Paris Foreign Mission, but since 1907, the Society of the Divine Word has been in charge.
The present church was completed in 1962, and the “Otsugeno-Kane” bell, which was completed in 1995, echoes beautifully in the morning and evening. The Akita Christian Martyrdom Monument is located on the grounds, and prayers are offered there every year on July 18.
